I have had no dramas with these for 2.5 years on a site linking 2 buildings plugged into RG260s. But, they are the only devices on the 10 pair cable so there is no other noise. It sounds like your VDSL signals are talking over each other and given the cable isn't twisted pair the cross talk will be horrendous. I wonder if each is cranking the power up to compensate which results in a shouting match... From what I understand VDSL out of a NBN cabinet has a function where it can cancel out and minimise crosstalk between cables emanating from it. As it has no control over your VDSL devices it's not going to work so well. Can you use a wireless link instead? HI Mal!
I have seen report of VDSL line sync drop from just touching the module with fingertips which implies that they are very susceptible to noise from background RF activity - I expect that ensuring good earth to the router casing (if it is a metal enclosure) or try making common earth to the SFP cages themselves of it's a plastic casing router.
If it is indeed some crosstalk between the pairs in the same bundle, which is also quite likely, then there's probably not a great deal that can be done about it :(
Hope you can find a way!
