That's interesting - I have had one CAPAC go off the air like that for no good reason repeatedly in spite of wipes and identical configs to other devices being used. I gave up in the end! New cabling is going to the location this week so I'll try again shortly. On Thu, 10 Jan 2019 at 20:43, greg <mclennan@internode.on.net> wrote:
Hi Paul
Not sure if this might help your issue. But here's my background on that issue... I purchased 5x cAP ac's powered by the IPQ-4018chip for an install at work. I have about 30 MT wireless devices of mixed boards. Anyhow notably I had NO issue with 2 of the cAP AC's, but the other 3 would randomly reboot or lock up(was hard to tell and this was a nearly daily occurrence), I could not communicate to the device after it rebooted/locked up. I had them configured with a management VLAN and some other vlans. Physically it would look like its up, but I could not talk to the device via any VLAN, until I re-powered the units..
I tried everything from Net-installing both OLD and NEW RouterOS versions to try and stop this behavior, and I could not identify a specific event that caused them to become problematic.
I eventually saw a note under an early release of RouterOS v6.44(BETA) with "**) ethernet - fixed IPv4 and IPv6 packet forwarding on IPQ4018 devices;*"
Since installing the 6.44Beta onto those 3 devices, not 1 of my units has played up... And since your unit is also powered by the IPQ4018 chip, it could not hurt to give that a go.. Needless to say it of course could be something un-related ! Good luck in you hunt for a solution.
Cheers Greg
Hi all,
Just wondering if anybody has experienced random reboots from the SXTsq ac radios with the new ARM chipset ? I have read about some woeful results when using NV2 on the MT forums and people also seem to have other issues, but can't seem to see any rebooting problems.
We have only just started using them and the first one has been fine, 30 days uptime so far with no issues, but the second one just rebooted randomly about 5 times a day and the latency was all over the shop. We replaced it with a brand new one and it does exactly the same thing.
Even after upgrading to latest long term OS and firmware no change, and I can't find anything in later version change logs which refer to any issues being fixed like this.
We are only trying to use it in 802.11 a/n mode, not even ac, and we have tried 802.11 an NV2 options, connecting to an Omnitik. Power is OK as we are powering a powerbox from the same injector and

Any thoughts ?
