Admin /admin didn't work - turns out I needed a code specific to the device, calculated from the IMEI. Found it at http://huaweicodecalculator.com/ Seems to be working now. Doesn't seem to matter whether 'ignore direct ip modem' is set, but I do have to use ppp, not lte/dhcp. I tested it with my spare Telstra sim, but the client will be using Vodafone. Presume it'll work with just a change of APN. Thanks everyone -----Original Message----- From: Public [mailto:public-bounces@talk.mikrotik.com.au] On Behalf Of James Symon Sent: Friday, 15 July 2016 18:02 To: MikroTik Australia Public List <public@talk.mikrotik.com.au> Subject: Re: [MT-AU Public] USB 4G Modem for Vodafone Admin / admin normally Also I don't believe you need to do the 'ignore direct ip modem' on these, they should work as a LTE interface. Just apply the apn and add a dhcp client on the interface. Most of these dongles have Wi-Fi hotspots which I normally disable. I tried to apply the firmware update, but it asked for a password. Any ideas? The guy I got it from (eBay) said they haven't put any passwords on the device. -----Original Message----- From: Public [mailto:public-bounces@talk.mikrotik.com.au] On Behalf Of Russell Hurren Sent: Tuesday, 12 July 2016 10:06 To: 'MikroTik Australia Public List' <public@talk.mikrotik.com.au> Subject: Re: [MT-AU Public] USB 4G Modem for Vodafone Thanks Tim, I've found one on eBay. It's just for a backup link in case the ADSL goes down, so if not I may just tell them to get a Telstra pre-paid device.
