Thanks Mike Unfortunately I cannot see a way to do this with CAPsMAN though. It is possible to set a single channel config but no way to group (say 1,6 & 11) I also note now that with an RB951 I'm unable to connect to the Radio with a Spectralink handset, whilst everything else works. Both have the Atheros 9300 Has anyone else out there experienced these issues, if so, any workarounds ? D On 9 February 2016 at 09:49, Mike Everest <mike@duxtel.com> wrote:
Hi Denis!
Yes, it is strange indeed - I have certainly never noticed that happen :-o
Maybe you received a version that has one of the region lock packages installed, or some problem with the initial software installation - usually netinstall will recover lost functionality if that happens!
In any case, as you've identified, it is not usually a good idea to use those channels anyhow, so the effective result is probably inconsequential ;)
You can lock selection to just the subset of channels by making a list of channels under 'channels' tab of wireless menu in winbox/webfig, then set frequency of wlan interface to 'auto' and choose the list name in 'scan list' :-)
Cheers, Mike.

Maybe you have seen this strangeness before ?
I stumbled across an issue where devices would not connect to Mikrotik Radios (wAP, cAP - Atheros).
Turns out that Channels 7,8,9,10 don't work for us, we came across this where we were deploying a dozen wAP's using CAPsMAN and we had the system set to "auto" frequency. Channel 7 would sort of work with some stations but they would not pickup an IP address and association was flaky, others would not connect at all.
In testing, we went through each channel by selecting the exact frequency, 2412, 2417 and so forth. Connecting to channels 1 through 6 and 11 were reliable. Other channels did not work at all. Using my WiFi analyzer, nothing was coming out of the Radio (7-10) (according to my laptops Radio). I reckon there was but the "incompatibility" was giving me a herring.
I've tried with Spectralink SIP Handset, Apple Devices (Phone Tablet etc) and Dell equipment.
The challenge now is to limit CAPsMAN to only (automagically) assign 1, 6 or 11
