Hi Tim, yes this is what happens. I think what I am seeing is that the side set to 100FULL at the moment is actually set for 100 half, but the side set to auto is setting itself to 100 full What's the best way to deal with this then ? RegardsPaul Tim Warnock <timoid@timoid.org> , 3/11/2015 10:00 AM: Hi Paul, To test: If you set one side to 100/FULL and the other side to AUTO, does the auto side come up at 100/FULL? -Tim

Hi Tim, sounds interesting, however I'm not sure if I am having a moment but I'm not sure what method is the "new" method ?
The way I have done it is to untick Auto Negotiation, set speed to 100Mbps, and ensured that the Full Duplex tickbox is ticked.
Thanks Paul

Just a FYI on this guys:
All changing the Full Duplex/Speed settings is doing in new chipsets is changing the advertised features.
The old method was to change the port characteristics and disable advertising capabilities, hence why a port locked at 100/FULL to a partner of 100/AUTO would always come up at 100/HALF.
This new method negotiates capabilities and they then settle on the best mutual combination available.

Hi,
Is it omniTik-U or omniTik-UPA? Are they long cables?
Have you tried locking ports to full/100 manually?
Cheers, Mike.

Hi guys, I have posted before to this email list about an issue we have at customer site where direct Ethernet connections between wireless routers (1 x CPE and 1 x AP back to back) all of a sudden drop from full duplex to half duplex mode, even though they are hard set to 100M full.
