Thanks Matt and Alex, I got them up to 5.26 last night so we will see how that goes with the OSPF bug, I have the 6.31 package ready to go as well but I thought I would just try the 5.26 version and firmware upgrade as well, so far so good. I'm not sure about the partition though, will have to investigate that. Do those devices have partitions ? The CCR's do and you can setup so they fail back to the previous firmware on failed boot. Also I remember for the ccr's there was some requirement for hardware firmware to be done as well... Hi Paul, If you go to http://www.mikrotik.com/download and select "Legacy (5.26)" from the pulldown menu, you'll find it. http://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/5.26/routeros-powerpc-5.26.npk Matt. Thanks Stavros, I was thinking about going to 5.26 first but can't find the packages for PPC, it seemed to be the most stable version of 5.x and what we usually go to before we jump to 6.x, good point about the firmware though, something to definitely keep in mind, thanks !

Hi,
I'm pretty sure I've done something similar ie 5.26->6.2x
I have been overly cautious with older firmware though (eg 5.09), by doing a firmware upgrade (eg "/system routerboard upgrade") before and after the upgrade to 5.26 and then upgrading to 6.x and redoing the firmware upgrade.
4 reboots still keeps you within 6 or so minutes outage :)

Hi guys, just wondering if somebody can confirm if I can upgrade from 5.24 straight to 6.31 on an RB1100 ??
I thought you needed to go to a later version of 5.x first before upgrading ?
When I try to do the upgrade from within the router itself it says that the latest version is 6.27 and then complains that it can't find one of the npk files and aborts the download.
