Thanks, I am coming to the same conclusion, they are not long enough to get to the cold air.
Unfortunately I am not in a position to a major re org of the rack for now. It seems they run a lot cooler sucking in the hot air.
So it looks like another visit for me :)

Where in the rack are you CCR's mounted, if they are near the top of the rack, there may not be enough air flow/pressure to the CCR's that have reversed airflow due to the fan intakes now being further "inside" the rack than they were before.
We have not reversed airflow on our CCR's, but we have done this on some of our older 10gig switches that did not have a B-F fan option.
We experienced the same result, the switches ran hotter. After a fair bit of head scratching, and making ducting out of core flute we determined the actual problem was that the switches are much further back from the front of the rack and there was not enough air-pressure to feed cold air in to them. This was made worse by having an Oracle M5000 directly below them stealing all the cool air. We ended up making a "fan panel" that houses 3x 120mm fans and mounts to the front of the rack forcing cold air toward the equipment that is rear mounted. This works really well and we now have temperatures even lower than our normal front mounted switches.

Standard 19" rack. These are facing out back into the hot aisle, which is why I thought I should have air flow from back (cold aisle) to front.

So I have made the changed and turned on my monitoring of temp on my boxes.
Seems like my unit that I convert to air flor back to front , the CPU is running hotter than my other boxes, which are drawing air front to back. So 5 x CCR1036. Avg CPU temp is 4 avg 54c and max 55or 56c the one I changed is avg 58c. max 59c
