Before you get too excited, put the new wifi-qcom-ac drivers on the hapac2. Uninstall the old wireless package and install the new one from the extras package. It will likely have a better performance. Regards, Jason Hecker <https://www.upandrunningtech.com.au> <https://www.upandrunningtech.com.au> On Thu, 4 Jul 2024, at 22:20, Karl Auer via Public wrote:
Just curious about something.
We needed some ad-hoc wifi in a small raked theatre with perhaps 30m through clear air in a straight line-of-sight from the control room (sound and lighting decks) to the stage.
An hAP ac2 was losing connections all the time at that distance. An old RB951Ui-2hND was solid.
The doco says the 2.4GHz transmit power differs - 30/25/30/23 vs 27/24/27/23. Is that difference enough to explain the dropouts? Why would the newer device have so much less power? Needed to share it with the 5GHz side perhaps?
Both are running 7.15.1 BTW.
