I'll try plugging it in and then powering on in the morning but I was able to plug it into a hAP, mAP and a CCR1009 and it was recognised immediately with out reboot. All running 6.33 or 6.33.1.

Hmm, the MF823 'just works' on the CRS109 for me. When you say 'plug it in', you're power cycling the CRS after plugging it in yeah? While you can power cycle the USB port to reset a locked up LTE dongle, the dongle must be plugged in when the CRS boots, for it to see it in the first place..
