What's the different between the CCR range and the CRS range
CCR are primarily routers, and can forward Layer 3 at high speed. CRS are primarily switches, which can forward layer 2 at wirespeed, but you can remove ports from the switch group to use as a router. They're not particularly powerful routers. The CRS125 is pretty decent if you've got a small-ish office on ADSL/EoC/NBN and you're providing cloud services. I'm about to use a CCR1009 for a client who has multiple VLANs and an onsite server. I wonder which "Next generation Switching chip" they are talking about. Trident ? seems like to few ports but.

Hi Alex - yes, I saw it too! :-)
At this stage, it is only released to public and not yet released to distributors, which means that there is no firm pricing and no firm arrival dates yet ;-)
My guess is that someone else has released (or announced) something that they consider a competitive product, and they want to stay in the game per sec ;)
Cheers!
Mike.

Saw this in the last email.
