Hi all,
I am having a problem with the PS180C-R VDSL SFP pair. https://shop.duxtel.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=489
I am having difficulty getting the modules to work in our unit complex alongside our NBN FTTN service. between units.
When we connect the SFP modules between 2 units in our complex, (Using separate pairs of course) , our existing NBN VDSL drops. and the SFPs loose connection intermittently
I suspect that the 10 pair cable coming into our unit is suffering crosstalk between pairs.
Has anyone experienced this before at all?
Thanks as always for any advice.
Regards,

Hi, You are possibly attempting to send very loud signals on the bands that the other modem right nearby is listening for Perhaps Make sure the CPE end of the PS180C-R is the end near the existing modem. Make sure the PS180C-R is using profile 17a. If the distance between the 2 PS180C-R modules is very short, perhaps put in an attenuator at the CO end. I have seen report of VDSL line sync drop from just touching the module with fingertips which implies that they are very susceptible to noise from background RF activity - I expect that ensuring good earth to the router casing (if it is a metal enclosure) or try making common earth to the SFP cages themselves of it's a plastic casing router. If it is indeed some crosstalk between the pairs in the same bundle, which is also quite likely, then there's probably not a great deal that can be done about it :( Hope you can find a way!
