Thanks Stavros, I was thinking about going to 5.26 first but can't find the packages for PPC, it seemed to be the most stable version of 5.x and what we usually go to before we jump to 6.x, good point about the firmware though, something to definitely keep in mind, thanks ! Hi, I'm pretty sure I've done something similar ie 5.26->6.2x I have been overly cautious with older firmware though (eg 5.09), by doing a firmware upgrade (eg "/system routerboard upgrade") before and after the upgrade to 5.26 and then upgrading to 6.x and redoing the firmware upgrade. 4 reboots still keeps you within 6 or so minutes outage :) -----Original Message----- From: Public [mailto:public-bounces@talk.mikrotik.com.au] On Behalf Of Paul Julian Sent: Sunday, August 16, 2015 6:31 PM To: public@talk.mikrotik.com.au Subject: [MT-AU Public] Upgrade from 5.24 to 6.31 possible ??? Hi guys, just wondering if somebody can confirm if I can upgrade from 5.24 straight to 6.31 on an RB1100 ?? I thought you needed to go to a later version of 5.x first before upgrading ? When I try to do the upgrade from within the router itself it says that the latest version is 6.27 and then complains that it can't find one of the npk files and aborts the download.
