Hi Jason and Andrew, You are both right, I restored a backup rather than importing a config export, I should be right to do the changes myself and had wondered why I saw some inconsistencies in the past, I have been using Mikrotik's for about 7 years now and I'm obviously still getting caught out with rookie mistakes 😊 It's the only way to learn! An export of the config has stripped the invalid switch2 interfaces from the hEX Gr3 output, I'll wipe and do a tidy up this weekend, I still have the full backup to get be back to where I was if I run into issues 😊 I just need to remember to export and backup my OpenVPN certs. Thanks for the clarification, I'll also modify my scheduled SSH backup scripts to do an export to file too for each of my devices (have a couple of hAP-ac2's managed by CAPsMAN) Have a Happy Christmas and Safe New Year! Yes, you should use the export function, edit the file (like removing any MAC addresses and removing references to switch2) and import that. If you import and it fails for some reason, you have to reset/wipe, fix the problem in the config and reimport until you get it right. Backups should only ever be restored to the same device they came off. I did backups and restores to other devices in my early Mikrotik days like a n00b. It bit me on the arse a few times until I learned exporting is the only way. Hi,
Did you restore a config? OP Did you restore a backup?
Restoring a backup between devices is not supported.

Hi All,
Long time listener, first time caller.
I have a weird issue, I had a RB2011 some time ago which has two switch chips, 5 port Gigiabit and 5 Port Fast Ethernet. I restored it to a RB750Gr3 and aside from resetting MAC addresses and changing the WAN uplink port there was very little else to alter (they were both running the same RouterOS at the time)
However, there is some remnants of the RB2011 that I can't seem to clear which is the Fast Ethernet switch config (switch2) it shows up as follows:
[jim@aruma-RB750Gr3-gw] /interface ethernet switch> print
Flags: I - invalid
# NAME TYPE MIRROR-SOURCE MIRROR-TARGET SWITCH-ALL-PORTS
0 switch1 MediaTek-MT7621 none none
1 I switch2 (unknown) none none
[jim@aruma-RB750Gr3-gw] /interface ethernet switch port> print
Flags: I - invalid
# NAME SWITCH VLAN-MODE VLAN-HEADER DEFAULT-VLAN-ID
0 E2 switch1 disabled auto
1 E3 switch1 disabled auto
2 E4 switch1 disabled auto
3 E5 switch1 disabled auto
4 I E6 switch2
5 I E7 switch2
6 I E8 switch2
7 I E9 switch2
8 I E10 switch2
9 E1 switch1 fallback 1
10 switch1-cpu switch1 disabled auto
11 I switch2-cpu switch2
[jim@aruma-RB750Gr3-gw] /interface ethernet switch port>
There doesn't seem to be a way to remove this from WinBox and I cant seem to find an easy way to clear it from the command line, does anyone have any hints? Would I need to do a different kind of export and re-import?
Kind Regards,
Jim.
