Of the 11 or so draytek's I've got, I had one that just wouldn't keep it's config whatever I did. I sent it back and a few months later it came back 'repaired'. Worked in my initial tests then same behaviour once I went onsite. Fortunately had a spare with me. Russell Hurren Managing Director Zero Point Networks PTY LTD +61 8 6262 9376

Hi,
Wow, most unusual, I have 2 of the same draytek vigor 120's sitting on 2 different setups just like you describe and haven't had a single issue with either of them.
I have heard they can be a bit fussy if you try and configure using the PPPoE/PPPoA setup page - which you don't use at all.
there is a sort of how-to here. And make sure on each change you reboot the modem as it needs to reboot to remember the change.

Seeking recommendations for a good dsl modem that supports all of the typical dsl variants that also supports a decent pppoe passthrough bridge mode. No wireless, no multiple ethernet etc - just adsl port and 1 ethernet port is ideal :-D
I recently bought a couple of draytek vigor 120, and hope I don't upset anyone by describing it as a piece of crap. I've wasted too much time trying to get them to work like a bridge, reliably and without losing config updates every second reboot. I have two of them in place and almost in production (project goes live ib a couple of weeks) at location almost 4 hours drive away, and I really want to bin them and replace with something that I have more confidence in :-}
Any suggestions, comments, (and abuse, if you feel the need, ;-) are most welcome!
Thanks,
Mike.
