Yeah I think the enclosure and board could do with some work but it's good to see they're working to move into that space. - Andrew On 10/08/2014 7:04 pm, "Mike Everest" <mike@duxtel.com> wrote:
Thanks for that link!
There's a product in there that I've never even heard of - the 'cAP' which I guess is probably 'c' for 'ceiling' ;-)
I'm not sure I like the look of that though - from some disussions I have had with MT sales team before I have been expecting a 'unifi space' product for some time now, but this looks a lot like it is mAP board inside a different case which means it is single chain only, which is a shame.
I guess it leaves a space in the market product/kits based on RF elements inSpot enclosure! :-)
Cheers!
Mike.

Likewise, seems like it'll be a good little helper; if it only had serial then we could start selling it as a swiss army knife for all network people!
For those who are curious, here's a picture of the internals (along with some other as yet unreleased products) - http://imgur.com/a/2o5Kv#5

Put me down for one when they arrive please :)
I can see it being a handy addition to the laptop bag, I currently carry around an RB951-2n (primarily to let me pay for a hotel internet connection once and then split it out to all of my various devices, but it has also come in handy as a general "network swiss army knife" when on site) - even better that it is apparently USB powered so I can just plug it into my phone charger instead of lugging around yet another power brick.

For those who missed it, MikroTik recently announced that mAP was on offer (free) for the next 50 registered attendees at the USA MUM to be held in Pittsburg on September 11 (only a non-US company would pitch an event on that date?)
Although official distributors still have no information about this product despite VERY significant market interest, the fact that they are on offer to MUM attendees in September are a somewhat encouraging sign that they may well become available very soon - and that at least, perhaps, they actually DO exist! :-D
Maybe we will know what price sometime soon too ;)
Cheers!
Mike.
