Hi Jason, perhaps I'm the only one having the issues but I have them at totally different sites so it's not just at one place, again yesterday I had another issue at one of the sites I often see the problem at. I have 5 omnitiks at that site which form a backhaul network which then have 2.4G AP's hanging off each except the backhaul AP router. One in particular has been a problem for a long time, all of them are setup identically though. This one dropped out yesterday, again, when I say dropped out I mean I couldn't see the 2.4G AP which was plugged into ether1 on the Omnitik, I could see that the interface was running and connected but could not talk to the RB411 AP, it appeared in neighbour list though. When it does this sometimes the link shows as 10M half duplex, other times it shows OK as 100M full duplex. I rebooted the Omnitik and then I could get to the 411, nothing else changed. So I upgraded to the latest ROS version and Firmware version on both units, rebooted everything one more time for good measure and it was all good. Then about 2 hours later I got an alert saying the AP was down, I connected into the backhaul router and the interface was now 10M full duplex, previously it had correctly negotiated at 100M full duplex. So now the AP is still down, so everything is running the latest of everything and still a problem. I don't know if it's something to do with POE or just the Omnitik in general, I have plenty out there which don't do this, or haven't done it yet, so I am baffled but these ones, the only thing I do at this site which is a bit different is that I run two POE injectors which face away from each other to power the RB411 and the Omnitik, then a patch lead between the injectors to connect them together, I really can't see any issue with this as the power is only coming out the end where the radio plugs in, there really shouldn't be any problem with that scenario, but the other one I had issues with earlier in the week had nothing like this, just a straight POE connection and then into a RB1100AHx2 on the end of it. I wouldn't say don't buy them because of this, nobody else seems to be having the issue that has responded anyway, but the Omnitik isn't a bad radio as long as you don't want low noise :-) a sector is always a better option if you can do it. If I get another one I'll give it a right seeing to in order to replicate your issue. It's going up very high and I don't want no trouble. Hi Jason, I am using various versions around the place, when trying to resolve the issues I have upgraded to the latest version at the time which unfortunately doesn't seem to help.

What version of ROS are you using and what version of the Routerboard firmware is installed?

Hi Mike, I have only just seen it on ether1, I suppose that's because that's mostly the port I connect to on them, it doesn't matter what connects, even a laptop can do it if you are unlucky, so it's not even Mikrotik to Mikrotik only, it's anything.
Changing from auto to hard set on the Omnitik doesn't help, the last one was hard set to 100 Full, but when connecting it to the new RB1100 in Auto mode it just wouldn't sync up right, even changing the 1100 to hard set 100 full it still wouldn't sync up right, there is something definitely wrong with those Omnitiks I reckon.
Maybe I'm just lucky......but I needed to set both the Omnitik and RB1100 both to Auto for it to work, but having the previous RB2011 in Auto and Omnitik in Auto wouldn't work in this case.

Hi Paul,
I haven't heard it reported before, other than yourself :-}
That's not to say it doesn't happen, just that I haven't heard about it.
I don't remember all the checks we did last time, but does it happen on all ports, or just the PoE out (or in)? Is it always the same kind of devoice at the other end that shows this behaviour, or does it happen regardless of what other device is on the other end? Can you stop it from happening by disabling the auto-negotiate?
Cheers Mike.

Hi guys, a while back I asked the list about the issues we seem to have with Omnitik 5Hnd units and them randomly syncing up in half-duplex 10M, I have exhausted all options with these and after just having yet another one do it I am at my wits end.
It doesn't seem to matter whether you use auto-negotiate or try and hard set the interface speed on the device itself or the device that plus into it but they just randomly decide to go to 10M half-duplex, has anybody else seen this and come up with a concrete fix by any chance ? It only happens on Omnitiks and it seems that it's only on the ether1 port from what I can see.
