Hi I am trying to stream VLC from a wireless client to multiple other wireless clients, and also from wired to wireless and wireless to wired, but in all 3 scenarios, I don't get anything showing up on the client. Ideally I would like to be able to go from wired to wireless, but if it can only go from wireless to wireless, that will be acceptable too. Here is the network: VLC Server(192.168.25.240)--------wireless------(192.168.15.254(wired) & 192.168.25.254(wireless)) --------wireless------VLC Client (192.168.25.241) | | VLC Server(192.168.15.201)--------wired-------------------- Normally I run a PPTP VPN between the wireless clients and the Mikrotik router to ensure the other data is safe, but even without the PPTP tunnels, I can't get it to work. I have read through http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Wireless and http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Multicast_detailed_example and set the multicast helper to full, but I can't seem to work out where the issue is. Any help, or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul

Hi Paul, This is becoming a bit too much like a support thread which is probably not what this list is for :-} Best to take it up with your supplier - i.e. if you bought it from DuxTel, forward to support@duxtel.com then we can assist further there. For future reference, these lists are intended for open discussion about MikroTik products and RouterOS software. Questions like 'has anyone else seen this before' are welcome, as are 'if you tried this feature, what are the general caveats or gotchas'. MikroTik-AU lists are not intended for general support issues like "it doesn't work, please help" - sellers, distributors and MikroTik forums are the best place for those! :-) Cheers, Mike. the

Mike
Thanks, I have got the multicasting between WIFI VLC server and WIFI VLC client working. Enabling the helper makes the video quality much better. I have now been trying to get it to go from wired to wireless or wireless to wired y using IGMP Proxy.
In my first test I setup ether1 as the upstream, and wlan1 as downstream:

Mike Thanks, I wasn't aware of the boundaries of this list. It's fine - :-) I only suggest it because I don't expect that there would be many (if any) responses to this kind of thread (other than me) and I don't want to bore everyone else with a general support matter ;) If anyone else disagrees, you are welcome to say so! :-D Cheers, Mike.

Mike That's a fair call. I thought we could use this to share knowledge and solutions like a normal forum - that's all. -----Original Message----- From: Public [mailto:public-bounces@talk.mikrotik.com.au] On Behalf Of Mike Everest Sent: Tuesday, 22 July 2014 8:14 AM To: 'MikroTik Australia Public List' Subject: Re: [MT-AU Public] Mikrotik Wireless Multicasting It's fine - :-) I only suggest it because I don't expect that there would be many (if any) responses to this kind of thread (other than me) and I don't want to bore everyone else with a general support matter ;) If anyone else disagrees, you are welcome to say so! :-D Cheers, Mike.

Certainly would be good to come back here with a summary of the eventual solution! :-} (if we get one ;) Cheers!
