I guess it depends on how much traffic you need to pass between those ports? The bridging will hit the CPU's on the 1036. Though with 36 cores, I guess that's not a huge issue ;) Does the 1036 HAVE any ports on a switch chip? Couldn't find mention of it in the specs on the Mikrotik site. If you don't want to hit the CPU on the router, then it'd probably be good to drop the vlan onto the switch instead and take it out of the router (and pass the vlan through to the router if needed). I want to put 3 eth ports into vlan 201. Does the vlan id realty matter as its only staying on the CCR ?

Do I bridge the 3 ports together and then add the bridge to vlan 201. At some point in time in the future I might want to extend 201 further into the my network.

Currently I have 2 SFP+ ports bonded and then I have vlans on top of the bond.
