HWMP+ and WDS fun and games
Hi all, I recently setup an HWMP+ mesh using 4 x RB951Ui at home to be used in the field. The home setup appeared to work fine but of course was an ideal setup. The units are now in the field and seemed to be working fine at the time of installation. I logged in remotely today to find the three wds-slave units are disconnecting with 14:23:48 wireless, info 4C:5E:0C:A2:3E:C3@wlan1: connected, is AP, wants WDS 14:23:57 wireless, info 4C:5E:0C:D2:70:2D@wlan1: disconnected, received deauth: reserved (0) 14:24:00 wireless, debug wlan1: 4C:5E:0C:D2:70:2D attempts to associate 14:24:00 wireless, info 4C:5E:0C:D2:70:2D@wlan1: connected, is AP, wants WDS 14:24:13 wireless, info 4C:5E:0C:D5:1B:07@wlan1: disconnected, received deauth: reserved (0) 14:24:16 wireless, info 4C:5E:0C:D5:1B:07@wlan1: connected, is AP, wants WDS 14:24:53 wireless, info 4C:5E:0C:A2:3E:C3@wlan1: disconnected, management-protection failure 14:24:57 wireless, debug wlan1: 4C:5E:0C:A2:3E:C3 attempts to associate 14:24:57 wireless, info 4C:5E:0C:A2:3E:C3@wlan1: connected, is AP, wants WDS type errors. All units are 6.27, wireless-fp package. Signal levels vary of course, but between them is typically around -70dB. They will stay up for about 1 minute then drop as shown above. management-protection was left as default (allowed), security is set as WPA2-PSK, aes-ccm. The design of the building prevents getting cable to the units easily, hence the mesh idea. Has anyone come across this or have any ideas on how to solve? I set up a mesh with 3 units for similar reasons (cabling not possible) for a client last year. I looked into HWMP+ vs Dynamic WDS and went with the latter just by itself. It's worked like a charm for 8+ months and the hotel owner still tells me how great it is! On 18 April 2015 at 15:11, David Ryan <dsryan@rjs.com.au> wrote:
