Hi I have a point to point link, using the Duxlink A and B end configurations available off the website. Very happy with it, but I now need to convert it to a point to multipoint configuration. I have the following on one roof as an A end: http://shop.duxtel.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=30_45&products_id=145 Then the following on another roof as a B end: http://shop.duxtel.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=30_45&products_id=244 The A and B ends both work, but when I add a second B end, im getting the following in the logs: I cant find the option to restrict the number of clients anywhere and the A end configuration doesnt look like it sets anything like that. If anyone has an idea, im all ears. -- James Gretton JJL I.T
Hi James, The devices probably have routerOS L3 license which does not support 'ap-bridge' mode which is required to allow more than one client to connect. You have two options: 1. upgrade the license on the 'ap' device to L4 - cost is about $47, or 2. buy a device with L4 license like SXT-G-5HPnD-SA, then you can re-use the existing unit as another client. Cheers! Mike.

Hi James, 'A' end usually has 'bridge' mode set - bridge mode is similar to ap-bridge, except that it allows only one client to connect. Note that for p2mp, you will need to adjust the configurations follows: 1. A end a) change wlan mode from 'bridge' to 'ap-bridge' b) change ip address on wlan interface to wider subnet - i.e. change /30 to /29 c) add eoip tunnel for link to second 'B end' device (e.g local 192.168.89.1 to remote 192.168.89.3 ) d) add new eoip tunnel to bridge 2. existing 'B end' a) change ip address on wlan interface to wider subnet - i.e. change /30 to /29 3. new 'B end' a) change IP address on wlan to a different address (e.g. 192.168.89.3/29) b) change local address on eoip tunnel to reflect new address of wlan Once this is done, you should end up with transparent bridge between all Ethernet interfaces. Incidentally, you /can/ just set wlan interface on ap end to 'ap-bridge', all CPEs to 'station-bridge' and then just add both Ethernet and wlan to a bridge group - that uses mikrotik proprietary client bridge mode to also effectively add all remote Ethernet interfaces to the local layer2 broadcast domain, BUT you may discover some problems passing vlan tags across the wireless links, and other functionality (like multicast for example) may not work as expected. Cheers! Mike.
