Hey, Is there any Mikrotik device that does 5GHz wireless? In my quick scan of the product list I couldn't see one. If not, does anyone know if there are any plans for 5GHz support? - Ben -- "If you made a Venn diagram [of my life], there would be two non-overlapping circles, one of which was labeled, 'Times when I am truly happy' and the other of which was labeled, 'Times when I am logged in as root, holding a cable, or have the case open.' " - Jamie Zawinski [jwz.org]
I would also be interested in a CPE style dual band device. I think they are all 2.4G or 5G but happy be corrected. Andrew On 01/12/2015 9:51 AM, "Ben Williams" <benw01@gmail.com> wrote:

Maybe not natively with dual band but you can always just build one with dual band easy peasy. Hi Ben, you could buy an RB912UAG-2HPnD board and get a 5Ghz Mini-PCI Express card for it, then get a case and power pack, you could also get an RB433 and get a 2Ghz Mini-PCI Wifi card and a 5Ghz Mini-PCI Wifi card for that There are a couple of options if you buy the board and cards separately, even a 3G/4G option if you like. There's also 'InSpot' aftermarket enclosure by RF Elements - a very neat ceiling mountable enclosure that fits 912UAG and others. Cheers! Mike.

Hi Mike, That's great. But single chain 5GHz? Say it ain't so! What else is on the horizon? Jason Hecker On 16 December 2015 at 12:23, Mike Everest <mike@duxtel.com> wrote:

Hi Mike,
That's great. But single chain 5GHz? Say it ain't so! What else is on
Heheh - yes, it's the 'lite' version. Full version of hAPac will have gigabit and /perhaps/ dual chain 5GHz Of course dual chain has limited value in a package like this since multiple spatial chains requires that antennas are close to exactly orthogonal and client and AP antennas must be 0close to exactly parallel . Since that latter is unlikely to happen in cases of typical wifi type application, then the fallback is really only for diversity result. BUT, diversity is always good especially for environs that these are likley to be deployed! :-) Cheers! Mike. the
horizon?
