Hi All Has anyone been able to get an vDSL SFP PS180 to work with Exetel on an RB4011 ? We're using VLAN8 (8/35 LLC) (we hope) so SFP has a VLAN8 hanging off it PPPoE client interface set to VLAN8 thanks for any advice -- *Denis Hancock* Chief Technical Officer / Director Helpdesk 1300 139 593 <1300139593> Mobile 0407 687 621 <0407687621> Unit 15, 5 Enterprise Drive, Rowville 3178 <https://goo.gl/maps/HGmhhNncEF12> <https://www.facebook.com/samuraiconsulting.melbourne> <https://au.linkedin.com/in/denishancock> Australian Information Security Association (AISA) Member This email is intended only for the addressed and is subject to copyright. My recollection is that ADSL has some “virtual circuit” mappings to particular VLANs. I also think these may be changeable by disti’s. Maybe check with your supplier but I believe there is an 8/35 mapping to one of the VLANs. According to one screenshot I have seen it is VLAN 8 for 8/35 Regards Alexander Alexander Neilson Neilson Productions Limited 021 329 681 alexander@neilson.net.nz

I must admit, I've never tried to use the 180T with ADSL, I've only used it for FTTN/VDSL. Someone else may have experience with it for ADSL? (I assume you're trying to do ADSL, as mention tagging vlan 8 to do VPI/VCI 8/35?) For VDSL though, it 'just works' :) You just tag the vlan your provider is using (or no vlan at all, if they're not using a vlan), and then setup DHCP client, or PPPOE client, whichever that provider is using, and off you go :) In my case, I tag vlan 100, setup a static IP, and static route, and voila, internet :) On Tue, 30 Nov 2021 at 14:13, Denis Hancock <denis.hancock@samurai.com.au> wrote:

hmmm vDSL for sure, and this is where we are confused. No vlan required for vDSL - correct Not sure why I mix ADSL settings for vDSL - thinking you got me on the right path now. On Tue, 30 Nov 2021 at 14:21, Damien Gardner Jnr <rendrag@rendrag.net> wrote:

I must admit, I've never tried to use the 180T with ADSL, I've only used it for FTTN/VDSL. Someone else may have experience with it for ADSL? (I assume you're trying to do ADSL, as mention tagging vlan 8 to do VPI/VCI 8/35?)
For VDSL though, it 'just works' :) You just tag the vlan your provider is using (or no vlan at all, if they're not using a vlan), and then setup DHCP client, or PPPOE client, whichever that provider is using, and off you go :) In my case, I tag vlan 100, setup a static IP, and static route, and voila, internet :)

Hi All
Has anyone been able to get an vDSL SFP PS180 to work with Exetel on an RB4011 ? We're using VLAN8 (8/35 LLC) (we hope)
so SFP has a VLAN8 hanging off it PPPoE client interface set to VLAN8
thanks for any advice
