4G Modem supporting 700Mhz/ Band 28
Hello All, Thanks for all the generous support provided by you all. It’s very much appreciated. I need to replace a Teltonika RUT-950 modem router on a luxury motor yacht placed below deck. A 3G and 4G external antenna feed into it from above and it serves a basic AV / WLAN setup. The yacht is mostly within Sydney harbour but sometimes ventures up the coast as far as Brisbane. Any suggestions? I know there’s now an MK LTE modem (as of a few months ago) but it doesn’t support B28. Matt
Hi. I recently wrote in the MT forums about using a compatible B28 card's : Quectel EP06-E(~$110) & Quectel EC25(~$65). I have successfully tested the EC25 in a LtAP, and the big brother EP06-E in a wAP ac(RBwAPGR-5HacD2HnD). I feel compelled to remind folks about regulatory compliance considerations when using third party modems with Mikrotik (actually ANY) devices :-} AU regulatory rules require that to demonstrate compliance with the relevant standards, lab tests must be conducted using the "complete final assembled product" and therefore even if you install a modem carrying RCM label into a router carrying RCM label, the end result is not necessarily compliant. There ARE some cases where it is OK, such as when the modem is a 'self contained device' of it's own, such as a "USB dongle" type modem. MiniPCI-e modem intended to be installed internally, is definitely not one of those cases ;-) Since there are some significant penalties applicable for operating non-compliant equipment, each user needs to make their own assessment as to the applicable risks of using that equipment :-} I know - I harp on about that ALL the time (sorry about that!) but I do think it is always important to add a kind of disclaimer when such advice or suggestions are posted ;-) Cheers!

Hi Matt, Check out the Robustel range. They aren't particularly cheap but they are great devices in my experience and the build quality is great which should be a major consideration on a yacht. You just need to spec it carefully.
