Hi All, we have had a few EOIP tunnels just die recently between Mikrotik Routers. Some have been running happily for years and then just stop, disable/enable makes no difference. The only way to fix the problem is to either change the tunnel ID or create a whole new interface on each end. Has anybody come across this before ? Regards Paul
So with this one just now I changed the tunnel ID's and it didn't fix it, I had to recreate the interface on one end, it wasn't showing that it was running but the interface at the other end was showing as running. Weird, but this is something I have seen a number of times now. Router which needed the new interface is running 6.33.3 so not old at all, other end is running 6.22 Any thoughts appreciated. Hi Paul, If the EoIP tunnel up time exceeds 248 days (eg router uptime is 248+ days) you may be running into this issue: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=91959 Re-creating the EoIP tunnel sets the uptime to zero which is why that restores functionality. We had this issue in the past, but haven't had this issue on 6.34.6 and newer. Interesting, thanks Phillip, the tunnels which we have this problem with have been up for a long time without issue, then just out of the blue they drop. We don't get the look detected error like some people get though, so maybe it's just hitting an uptime limit perhaps. So I would assume you need to upgrade both ends then ? If you don't see the loop detected message then I suspect it isn't related. We made a point of upgrading both ends. We like to have the same version of RouterOS at each end where possible. -----Original Message----- From: Public [mailto:public-bounces@talk.mikrotik.com.au] On Behalf Of Paul Julian Sent: Monday, 6 March 2017 11:45 AM To: 'MikroTik Australia Public List' <public@talk.mikrotik.com.au> Subject: Re: [MT-AU Public] EOIP Tunnel Drop Interesting, thanks Phillip, the tunnels which we have this problem with have been up for a long time without issue, then just out of the blue they drop.
