Man what is it with kernel failures at the moment, it must be the weather, anybody else seem to be getting a few lately ?? We have seen two in two days from totally different device types, both critical devices of course.... Regards Paul

Hi Paul, It would pay to open it up, if the 2 large Electrolytic capacitors at the rear of the PSU have a black plastic casing, check the C10 capacitor for signs of leakage (raised top). This capacitor is near the rear of the PCB closest to the heatsink. It is common for these to start leaking on early CCR1036/1016 units and cause kernel failures. Mmm, interesting, thanks for the heads up. I will have to swap it out first though, It's one of our more critical routers on our network. This is a really interesting thread Matt - thanks for pointing it out. I'm also interested in that discussion Paul and I'm happy to share what I currently have although I'm sure it's laughable. I reckon a wiki that authorised users could edit that had tips and scripting and config recipes would be good. The Mikrotik wiki is OK but lacking at times. On 8 March 2017 at 07:31, Ben Jackson - eLogik <ben@elogik.net> wrote:
